I would really quickly just like to say that the feedback we are getting from the breakup is unbelievable. I had no idea this band was so fond of and had no idea we would get such a negative response from splitting up. No one in this band really wanted this to happen but some things are just out of our control.

I can honestly say how happy I am people actually liked our music, and actually liked the songs that I (as well as everyone else) worked so hard to put together. Every minute I put into making this band better and every single dollar I put into this band was well worth it because we actually meant something to some of you. Thank you to EVERYONE who has written up on our wall, or sent me a text, or just mentioned to their friend how bummed they were we are no longer together. You are all the ones that made this experience worth it.

SEPTEMBER 2009 - MAY 2011

Music should always be about the fun but everyone should also know that it comes as a gamble as well. In every person’s life there comes a time when reality kicks in and you have to make mature decisions based off of the cards you are dealt. As we all know, nothing lasts forever and with heavy hearts we are sad to announce that Light In May is no longer a band. Since the beginning of this band we have all put everything we could into it and appreciate everything that you guys have given back to us. We have all experienced things that we never planned to and that made this a truly special experience for all five of us.

The one thing that we all have walked away from this band with is a strong group of friends. Not only have we all become closer because of this band but through playing with bands like Auburn, Manners, With Life In Mind, Pathways, Longshot, Wolves At Bay, Like Beasts, Spies Like Us and others we have gained lifelong friendships because of both music and Light In May. We were graced with the ability to play with some of our favorite bands who both inspired us and eventually became friends. We’ll never forget nights like the one and only show at the Thirsty Frog with Curses, the Vanna show that almost sold out a Franco American club, the Manners CD release show or our own CD release show where our dreams came true and we were able to release a CD filled with seven songs that we worked so hard on.

We want to thank anyone who helped us in any way from Jay DeLuca who helped us record every song you’ve ever heard from us to the five guys from Auburn who took us under their wing and made us the musicians we are today. We had AMAZING fans and friends including but not limited to people like Josh Peck, Alex Olmer, Matt Kaufmann and dozens and dozens of others who would do anything and everything for us and who made this band more than we ever thought it could ever be. Last but not least we want to thank everyone who listened to a song or watched us at any of our shows whether it was for a minute or our entire set.

As of now we are still discussing the possibility of a last show so please check back to see if an actual final show will take place. As of now, there are no projects being worked on by any members of Light In May but keep an open ear because you never know what might happen in the future. If you have any questions, concerns or would just like to talk to us please email either lightinmay@ymail.com or band@lightinmay.com.

Thank you for everything guys!
Andrew, Nick, Karl, Mikey and Caleb.
